🧠 Как работает сравнение

В английском есть два способа сравнивать:

👉 сравниваем 2 вещи → используем сравнительную степень
👉 выбираем самый-самый → используем превосходную степень

Tom is taller than Mike
Tom is the tallest in the group

💡 Сравнение — это всегда про разницу:

better / worse
faster / slower
bigger / smaller

📚 3 способа сравнивать

В английском обычно есть 3 основных способа образовать сравнение:

🟣 Короткие слова

Обычно добавляем -er и -est .

tall → taller → the tallest

fast → faster → the fastest

small → smaller → the smallest

🔵 Длинные слова

Обычно используем more и the most .

beautiful → more beautiful → the most beautiful

interesting → more interesting → the most interesting

❌ beautifuller не говорим

🟢 Исключения

Их нужно просто запомнить.

good → better → the best

bad → worse → the worst

far → farther / further

💡 Полезная логика:
короткое слово → чаще -er
длинное слово → чаще more

Но есть ещё несколько важных изменений в написании:

big → bigger (удваиваем согласную)
hot → hotter
happy → happier (y → i)
easy → easier

То есть мы не просто добавляем окончание механически — иногда слово немного меняется.

🚫 Ошибки, которые сразу режут слух

В сравнительной и превосходной степени есть ошибки, которые встречаются особенно часто.

💡 Главная идея:
нельзя делать двойное сравнение .
Если слово уже стоит в сравнительной или превосходной степени, добавлять ещё один маркер сравнения не нужно.

💡 Ещё один важный момент:
фраза This is better сама по себе может быть нормальной , если из контекста уже понятно, с чем идёт сравнение.
Но если ты только учишься, полезно всегда спрашивать себя:
better than what?

🇺🇸 В разговорной речи, особенно в американском английском, иногда можно услышать формы вроде:
more smart
more simple
more quiet

Это встречается в неформальной речи, потому что язык упрощается.
Но это не считается стандартной нормой .
В нейтральном и грамотном английском лучше говорить:
smarter , simpler , quieter .
